Esschert Design Thumb Watering Can for Gardeners

In the middle of the beautiful Twentse landscape, Mrs. Mosterd started her business "Esschert Design" in 1989, operating out of her 15th century farmhouse "Het Esschert". Her business initially focused on selling gift items and items for the dining room table. In 1993, she was joined by two of her four sons, Arend and Gerard Mosterd, who helped create the wholesale distribution division.

Arend, a recent graduate of the University of Amsterdam, and Gerard, who had just completed his military service after earning a degree in Business Economics, began their wholesale distribution business with the items they had developed themselves, which were exclusively produced by Esschert Design. This division was launched at a major trade show in Utrecht, Holland, in March 1993.

As the distribution business grew, Esschert Design soon outgrew their converted barns on the family farm, and they bought a bigger barn across the street. With the distribution business requiring everyone's time, the company eventually stopped its retail business.

During the following years, Esschert Design expanded into several different categories while maintaining its focus on staying unique and ahead of any possible competitors. The company found its niche in home and garden gifts, offering unique and practical products made from Terra Cotta.

One such product is the Thumb Watering Can, which is ideal for gentle watering of delicate seedlings and small plants. To use the Thumb Watering Can, the user first fully submerges it in water and allows it to fill. They then place their thumb on the hole at the top, remove the can from the water, and hold it above the seedling or plant they want to water. By removing the thumb from the hole, the user can gently water the plant, and then place the thumb back over the hole to stop the fine shower.

The Thumb Watering Can has the following dimensions: 9.5 cm length x 9.5 cm width x 15.4 cm height, and is made from Terra Cotta, a material that perfectly complements the practical and unique nature of Esschert Design's products.
