Esschert Design Olla, 4 L, Terra Cotta, Large

In the middle of the beautiful Twentse landscape, in 1989, Mrs. Mosterd started the business out of her 15th century farmhouse "Het Esschert". Her business consisted of selling gift items and items for the dining room table, which she appropriately named "Esschert Design". In 1993, she was joined by 2 of her 4 sons, Arend and Gerard Mosterd, who had just graduated from the University of Amsterdam and left the military service after earning a degree in Business Economics, respectively. They helped to create the wholesale distribution division, and this division was launched at a major trade show in Utrecht (Holland), in March 1993.

As the distribution business matured and required everyone's time, they stopped their retail business. During the following years, the company grew fast and expanded into several different categories without losing sight of their objective to stay unique and ahead of any possible competitors. Esschert Design found its niche in home and garden gifts, offering unique but practical products.

One of their unique products is the olla, a terracotta pot that can be buried between the plants in a border or planter. After filling the pot with water, the roots of the plants will draw water from the pot, which can save up to 70% of the garden water consumption. This form of irrigation also ensures a better soil structure and reduces the growth of weeds and snails.

The product dimensions of the olla are 18.6 cm in length, 18.6 cm in width, and 32 cm in height.
